Panic alarms have a clear function, to deliver emergency alerts quickly and clearly to personnel, so that they are able to react and respond in the shortest time possible. Seattle Childrens Hospital realized that their alerts were taking as long as 3 minutes to reach officers. Incident response times also suffered.
